Membership

Welcome to Excel Boat Club’s 2010 Membership Information page

In 2010 Excel Boat Club is changing and consolidating the memberships; lowering the costs and trying a new payment plan for 2010, based on comments and feedback from a few `select’ members. We actually named the plan after two of them, just to make them feel special since it was their idea. Thus is born, the Reinemund/Lambert Installment Plan (RLIP)!

In 2010 there will be three set packages. The Guppy (weekday) and Minnow (1-10) packages will be priced at $3,799.00.  No increase for the weekday, a three hundred dollar decrease in the Minnow. The rest of the packages will be combined into one. The First Mate will be an 11-25 use package for $4,599.00, a great bargain for anyone who is considering a larger package.

The RLIP will work as follows: You may place down a $500.00 deposit in September or October to hold your membership. Instead of looking at a large lump sum payment due after the Holidays or the dead of winter, you can make low, monthly, no interest payments from October 2009 through August 1st, 2010. Thus the $3,799.00 membership, less the $500.00 deposit, equals $329.90 per month. The $4,599.00 membership, less the $500.00 deposit, is $419.90 per month.

All memberships include reciprocity at our Lake Minnetonka and St. Croix River marinas. And, you can bring friends, family, guests, children and clients along. We also provide the water toys you’ll need along with the ropes and life jackets.

If you have any questions please contact us by e-mail or either the Lake Minnetonka location at
(952) 401-3880 or the St. Croix at (651) 430-3118

Compare the Cost of Joining Our Club to Owning a Boat
Owning a boat is great. However if you think you may boat 10 to 20 times a year, consider your cost per use the the “sweat equity” in owning a boat. You rarely get back your initial cost when you purchase a boat—new boats lose value very quickly.

With the Boat Club, you have the opportunity to drive a variety of beautiful, new boats and the pleasure of boating without the long-term financial commitment or any of the work associated with boat ownership.
Below, you’ll find conservative estimates on cost to own a boat over a 5-year period versus joining the Boat Club. These numbers don’t include any kind of repairs you are likely to have at some point, your time involved in cleaning, hauling (gas) and maintaining your boat.
